""Conquering illiteracy together 30 minutes at a time.""

Make time because they deserve it.

MISSION

READ3Zero is a Tax Exempt 501(c)3 Non-Profit Foundation built on the pillars of Literacy, Creativity and Learning that will work within the community to conquer childhood illiteracy by influencing the lives of children to learn outside the classroom. This foundation was co-founded in 2009 by author/speakers Melissa M. Williams and Bobby Ozuna as a means to share aspects of the literary and publishing world and provide creative outlets to read and write.Read3Zero’s goal is to inspire a greater sense of learning and positive self-esteem for children.

VISION

The tagline, “Conquering illiteracy together…30 minutes as a time” is the outward projected message READ3Zero wishes to convey within communities, encouraging adults to read 30 minutes a day with a child to help conquer childhood illiteracy. Since reading and writing go hand in hand READ3Zero offers a means for children to partake in activities that inspire a greater sense of creative learning, through creative writing and illustration workshops, song-writing workshops, and the annual I Write Short Story Contest.

LEADERSHIP

Our young published authors and illustrators at READ3Zero have taken on the role as leaders in the literacy and art community. We encourage our youth to strive for the best and to be role models and examples to other children. READ3Zero’s OPEN DOOR Program allows our authors and illustrators to speak to other children about their journey as an author and artist.
